THE REGATTA ANNOUNCEMENT

The F. I. C., – the Italian Rowing Federation -, and the Reale Società Canottieri Cerea of Turin, with the contribution of the Rowing Clubs C. Amici del Fiume, C. Amici del Remo, CRAL Eridano, CUS Torino, Sisport FIAT, SC Armida, SC Caprera and in collaboration with the Piedmont’s Regional Committee of the F.I.C., organise on the following days:

Sunday, 10th November, 2013:

The SILVERSKIFF - m. 11.000

A time endurance race on the distance of 11 km for men and women single scullers in the following categories:

Junior A and B, Under 23, Senior A, Lightweight, Master (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I).

The SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE –m. 4.000

A time endurance race on the distance of 4 km,  for athletes adaptive male & female of the following categories: LTA FIS (physical) and VIS (visual) .   Boats: 1X or 2- for LTA & FIS; 2X with driver for LTA VIS.

The SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE –m. 4.000

A time endurance race on the distance of 4 km,  for athletes adaptive male & female of the following categories: AS, TA & LTA ID.   Boats: 1X adaptive for AS & TA; 1X Canoe for LTA ID.

The KINDERSKIFF –m. 4.000

A time endurance race on the distance of 4 km, in 7,20 singles, for boys and girls of the following categories: Allievi B (born in 2000/2001) and Allievi C (born in 1999), and of the Cadetti category (born in 1998) in single sculls.

We remind that the Allievi of the above-mentioned categories can only use “macon-type” paddles 2.95 meters long at max, while the Cadetti may use standard paddles of m. 2,86 max.

1. RACE COURSE

SILVERSKIFF: River Po, starting from the Cerea R. C., going up the river to the half-way buoy at Moncalieri Island and back to the Cerea. R. C. The whole course is 11,000 metres long.

KINDERSKIFF: River Po, starting from the Cerea R. C., going up the river to the buoy in front of the Piscina Lido and back to the Cerea R. C.. The whole course is 4,000 metres long.

2. ENTRY AND ELIGIBILITY RULES

Any male or female sculler belonging to the above-mentioned categories affiliated for the year 2012 either to the Italian Rowing Federation or to the Rowing Association of his/her country. The 2012 membership card of the Rowing Association to which they belong must be presented together with a valid Identity Card or Passport.

3. CANCELLATION OF THE RACES

In case of bad conditions of the river, the organizing committee will be allowed to modify the race course giving immediate and precise notification. The race will be cancelled only in case of very severe weather or course conditions.  In this case the entries fees  (boats too) are not  refunded.

4. REGISTRATION -  REGATTA COMMITTEE – LIGHTWEIGHT WEIGH-IN

The schedule of the races will be posted on the notice board located at the R.S.C. Cerea and every participating rowing club will be provided with a copy of it. Every athlete will be provided with a map detailing the race course.

SILVERSKIFF & SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE

REGISTRATION: on Saturday 9th November 2013 from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 15.00 to 18.30 at the R.S.C. Cerea.

KINDERSKIFF & SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE

REGISTRATION: on Saturday 9th November 2013  from 10.00 to 12.00 at the R.S.C. Cerea.

On Saturday morning, in case of need, priority will be given to the clubs with athletes participating in the Kinderskiff.

The Regatta Committee can be called to meet by the President of the Jury whenever he deems it necessary or in case of request from at least a third of the participants.

LIGHTWEIGHT WEIGH-IN will be conducted on Sunday morning from 8,00 up to 9.00 at the R.S.C. Cerea. Athletes not attending or not passing the control will be registered in the Senior or Under 23 categories according to age.

5. PROGRAMME OF THE COMPETITION 

SILVERSKIFF

Sunday 10th November 2013 :

-        09.45 AM: scullers will assemble in the starting area down the river from the RSC Cerea;

-        10.00 AM: start according to the numerical order at a 20 seconds interval.

SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE

Sunday 10th November 2013:

launching:  at the end of the Silverskiff starting procedure.

start:  approximately10 minutes after the start of the last Silverskiff competitor at 30 seconds interval.

 

SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE

Saturday 9th November 2013 :

-        11.45 AM: scullers will assemble in the starting area down the river from the RSC Cerea;

-        12.00 AM: start according to the numerical order at a 30 second interval.

KINDERSKIFF

Saturday 9th November 2013 :

-        1.15 PM: scullers will assemble in the starting area down the river from the RSC Cerea;

-        1.30 PM: start according to the numerical order at a 20 second interval.

Information during the competition will be posted on the notice board located at the R.S.C. Cerea and communicated through loudspeakers.

6. ENTRIES

Entry deadlines: expires October 30th at 24:00 PM.

Entries at Silverskiff & Kinderskiff will have to be submitted through the www.silverskiff.org website.  Entries at Silverskiff Adaptive will be submitted by email at following address:   info@canottiericerea.it

Entry fees:

-        KINDERSKIFF €  5.00

-        SILVERSKIFF

  • €  25.00 standard fee
  • €  40.00 master fee

-        SILVERSKIFF ADAPTIVE: free of charge

Fees will have to be paid by credit card or bank transfer at the time of registration according to the instructions available on the www.silverskiff.org website.

The regatta committee feels free to refuse entries over 500 participants.

7. WITHDRAWALS

Withdrawals must be received in writing to info@silverskiff.org by 6.00 pm of Monday November 4th 2013.   There will be no refund for scratched entries beyond this term.

8. REGATTA COMMITTEE

The Committee of the Regatta will meet on Monday 5th November 2013 at 9.00 pm at the RSC Cerea for a check on the Regatta organization, the control on entries and the assignment of starting numbers.

9. PRIZES

The winning woman and man scullers in the SILVERSKIFF race are awarded a prize in gold coins of the value of 800,00 Euro. 400,00 Euro in gold coins are awarded to the second-placed and 300,00 Euro in gold coins are awarded to the third-placed.

A special prize of the value of 1.000,00 Euro in gold coins is awarded to the sculler who sets up a new record on the SILVERSKIFF course.

A mountain bike is awarded to the winners of the KINDERSKIFF race.

Trophies are awarded to all first-placed woman and man scullers of all categories.

Medals of 1st/2nd/3rd level are awarded to the first, second and third-placed scullers of each category.

The RICCARDO STEINLEITNER MEMORIAL TROPHY is awarded to the Club which has won the highest number of prizes, according to rules that will be stated further on.

A special prize “Lia Gariel” memorial will be given to the first-placed junior girl.

The sculler who wins the SILVERSKIFF race three times (not necessarily consecutively) is awarded the attractive SILVERSKIFF TROPHY. A special Trophy will be awarded to the sculler, already winner of the SILVER SKIFFTROPHY, who will get other three victories.

The winner of the SILVERSKIFF race will be awarded a special watch when he/she wins the race nine times (not necessarily in succession).

The AWARD CEREMONY will take place at the R.S.C. Cerea at the end of the races (1 hour after the last KINDERSKIFF arrival and 1 hour and a half after the last SILVERSKIFF arrival).

10. LOGISTICS AND RULES OF RACING

Starting numbers will be distributed to the scullers with a € 5 deposit which will be returned once the numbers are given back. Participants will also receive a Shirt Number which must be worn visibly. The scullers will assemble in the starting area in numerical order and then proceed to the starting line divided in two rows with the odd numbers on the right side and the even numbers on the left side; they will have to follow the instructions given by the Marshal.

The course of the race goes upstream up to a half-way buoy, turns to the left around it, and returns downstream to the R.S.C.Cerea. The river will be divided longitudinally by a row of buoys for about 750 metres for the first part of the course and consequently also for the return. Going up the course the scullers should keep to their right (which is the orographical right bank of the river or the hill side). After the buoy turn they should continue to keep to their right (which is the city side of the river or the orographical left side). The correct passage under the arches of the 3 bridges over the course is indicated by signboards.  If the correct arch is not taken, the sculler will be disqualified. In case of overtaking, the sculler who is being overtaken should give way without obstructing the overtaking boat. A sculler continuously failing to yield may incur disqualification. It is forbidden to overtake 50 meters before or after the half-way buoy. For any further information concerning the Regatta, please contact the R.S.C. 11. DEPARTURE ORDER

The scullers whose previous year course time was equal to or minor than 55 minutes, will start according to the order of arrival of the previous year, regardless of the different categories. The remaining participants will be drawn by lot from the various categories as follows MSA, MU23, MLW, MJ, WSA, WU23, MR, WLW, WJ, WR, MASTER,  starting from the A Category and alternating Men and Women.

The Kinder Skiff departure will take place according to the arrival order of the previous year regardless of the categories. The remaining participants will be drawn by lot, starting from the cad. M, All. CM, cad. W, All. CW., All. BM ed All. BW.

12. MARSHALLING

Marshalling is under the responsibility of the Managing Marshall Committee of the F.I.C., the Italian Rowing Federation.

13. ASSISTANCE

Assistance and first aid service will be provided during the event starting 30 minutes before the start of the competition and will finish 30 minutes after the last arrival. Motorboats with security tools and blankets will assist the race. Radio communications are available on the race course.

14. TIMING

The Federazione Italiana Cronometristi will be in charge of it.

Anything not mentioned in this announcement will follow the regulations of the Codice delle Regate of the Italian Rowing Federation (including the attachment G “Endurance races regulation”).

STEINLEITNER MEMORIAL TROPHY: REGULATIONS

Kinder skiff

The trophy is awarded to the club which achieves the highest score. Points are assigned as follows:

-        30 points to the winning boy and girl;

-        16 points to the winners of the categories Allievi B and Allievi C.

In case of a draw, the trophy will go to the club obtaining the best placings.

Silver skiff

The trophy is awarded to the club which achieves the highest score. Points are assigned as follows:

-        30 points to the winning woman and man scullers;

-        16 points to woman and man winners of the following categories: Junior A and B, Under 23, Senior A, Lightweight;

-        8 points to woman and man winners of the master categories.

In case of a draw, the trophy will go to the club obtaining the best placings.
